Hole in the walls are AWESOME.
I randomly stumbled upon this place after seeing another foodie post about it, even though I've lived here pretty much my whole life. Why had this not existed in my life earlier??
I never really knew what Laos food was though until a friend introduced me to it this past year and this is the definition of authentic. It's located smack dab in the middle of a little convenience/grocery store (that also has like a tailoring service attached to it too??). Menu and food pics are taped to the front wall of the store, and you order at the cashier. There are like 4 tables maybe? A little sketchy looking, but I'm totally fine with it as long as the food is good.
And it just what I wanted, and everything felt so homemade and perfect. Each dish was made with care. No complaints. I want to go back ASAP! -

This place has been on my yelp list since forever and I finally have the opportunity to go. Reading through my fellow helpers review as well as co-worker experience, I was prepared. I knew it was going to be a hole in a wall as it was a small dark grocery store across from a light up McDonald's and a huge plaza!
The inside it literally a small grocery store with a couple of simple plastic chairs and tables. There's pictures of the menu for those who don't know what the stuff on the menu are covering the window.
Food:
Sausage - I wanted this Soo bad but they were sold out and won't have any until December!!!!
Papaya salad (lao style) - I like the flavoring, and you can have this as spicy as you want (I got 3 stars).
Beef jerky - super yummy. It looks tough and is a little fry, bit crunchy and the flavor is so addicting. It came with a sauce and sticky rice that was just as yummy
Nam Khao (crispy rice) - I had crispier rice but the flavoring again is really good. I also like the pieces of pepper that was on there, it was spicy! I do like that they gave a lot of lettuce and herbs to go with it.
Crispy pork ribs - freshly cooked, flavor was spot on, and I like the crispy texture out side. Some part was tougher than others though.
Overall, everything was different but good. Price was decent and service is typical for an Asian place. I would definitely come back, I need to try the sausage!!! -

Came here with a friend for linch this past Tuesday. Looking forward to returning to try other items. This Laotian deli in a small Asian grocery store in South Seattle. What a pleasant surprise, the space is nothing fancy there are about four or five tables with orange chairs . My friend suggested this place I don't think I've had Laotian food before. She had a couple of dishes she knew she wanted to try and I was open to anything. We shared the nam khao, Lao style papaya salad, and our favorite the Lao sausage. The sausage comes spicy or regular when we asked how spicy she said very. It comes with a spicy sauce that was perfect and added a little kick. The sausage has a nice lemongrass flavor and was nicely charred. The papayas salad isn't as sour as The Vietnamese version we think maybe there was tamarind sauce in it, was a little sweeter. Our order came with a cute container of sticky rice we're not quite sure what it went with it came out with the salad but we think it may have went with the sausage. The lam khao we ate like lettuce cups not sure of that's the way were supposed to but it worked. You could tell there was crispy tice in the dish it gave it a different texture.
Was great to discover a new option close to my dad's place, where I am most weekends looking forward to having him check out this place with me -

I want to put out there I have a soft spot for grocery store restaurants. Majority of the time it always feel like it was created for the community and supported by the community.
I came here about 4 years ago and remember we would hold meetings in the dining area because the food was so good. When I went back today, I forgot they sold one of my favorite bottled drinks that I really can't find anywhere else. PALM JUICE!!! I ordered the fried rice with beef and fried egg. They have this special way of making the egg that I definitely was craving and can't really replicate at home. So yes... this place is gem. -

Was excited to try the fried rice salad here but was disappointed in the quality of food as well as the service. Probably not coming back.
